Syrdarya branch of Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health commented on social media reports that a ten-day quarantine was announced in Zomin mahalla of Khavotog village of Sardoba district due to the A-22 disease detected in a villager.

The department confirmed that one of the mahalla residents was diagnosed with A-22 disease. According to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10), A-22 is anthrax.

This disease is not transmitted from person to person, only to person from animal in the process of slaughtering infected livestock and in contact with raw meat, the SES regional department said.

Accordingly, quarantine applies only to large and small cattle, the report said.

To date, veterinarians have vaccinated all large and small cattle in the territory of Zomin mahalla against this disease.

At present, the epidemiological situation does not cause concern, the management assured.
