On July 12, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The parties considered priority areas for mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union, primarily in the areas of trade, industrial cooperation, transport and logistics, innovation, migration and tourism,.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the well-established systemic interaction of Uzbekistan with the structures of the organization as an observer state. A memorandum and a plan of joint activities until 2023 are being implemented. A list of additional areas of cooperation was signed today.
The sides commended the upward trend in the two-way trade and investment figures with the EAEU countries.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of further elimination of trade barriers, strengthening of industrial cooperation and stimulation of business contacts, development of project cooperation, promotion of projects and programs in the field of transit, simplification of migration procedures and expansion of tourist exchange.
An agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the joint working group.
