Kazakhstan withdraws from the 1995 Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) agreement on the Interstate Monetary Committee.
President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Toqayev signed decree approving the protocol on the termination of the agreement on the establishment of the Interstate Monetary Committee dated May 26, 1995 of Minsk on October 25, 2013 with immediate effect.
The Committee was created to promote the organization of multilateral cooperation in the field of currency payment and credit relations, the convergence and improvement of currency legislation affecting multilateral settlement and credit relations, the development of forms and methods for coordinating the monetary and foreign exchange policies of the states parties to the agreement on the establishment of a payment union of states -participants of the CIS, as well as cooperation and implementation of coordinated actions in matters of currency control.
