The executive committee of the regional anti-terrorist structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (RATS SCO) mentioned the events in Karakalpakstan.
Representatives of the organization condemned the attempts to destabilize the situation in Uzbekistan and expressed support for the measures taken by the country's authorities to ensure law and order after the events in Karakalpakstan.
“The Executive Committee of the RATS SCO, condemning anti-constitutional manifestations and attempts to destabilize the socio-political situation, advocating the preservation of stability, security and sustainable development, in connection with the events that took place on July 1 this year in Karakalpakstan, expresses support for the measures taken by the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan to ensure the rule of law and order, protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, interethnic harmony and peaceful coexistence of all peoples of multinational Uzbekistan,” the statement concluded.
