Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke to the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev over the telephone, the presidential press services said.
Reportedly, the President of Kazakhstan expressed full support for the decisive measures taken by the President of Uzbekistan to curb illegal actions, ensure stability and sustainable development in Karakalpakstan.
“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the timeliness of the decisions of the Uzbek leadership to ensure stability in Karakalpakstan. The President of Kazakhstan wished Shavkat Mirziyoyev success in holding the referendum on amending the Constitution, emphasizing that this event would be an important moment in the implementation of the program of large-scale political and socio-economic transformations in fraternal Uzbekistan,” the Kazakh head’s press service said in a statement.
Both leaders also focused on the implementation of agreements at the highest level, including the promotion of cooperation projects in the field of industry, agriculture, transport, logistics and mutual deliveries of products and exchanged views on multilateral regional cooperation in the context of preparations for the next Central Asia Summit.
