The phase I of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project will run along the Torugart-Makmal-Jalal-Abad route. This provisional route was presented on June 28 at a meeting in the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan by the Minister of Transport and Communications Erkinbek Osoev.

The development of a feasibility study for the project will be completed in December this year. 

“The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project is a unique project, the implementation of which we must attach special priority to. The relevant state bodies need to duly carry out the necessary preparatory work, Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized. 

During the meeting, the issues of construction of other infrastructure projects were also discussed. 

The China-Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan railway line is a planned to connect the railways of the three countries and further the Persian Gulf countries, the Republic of Turkey with the European railway network.
