The blocked Twitter, TikTok and VKontakte are expected to be unblocked in Uzbekistan. This information was confirmed by a representative of the Ministry of ICT.
In the summer of 2021, Uzbekistan blocked TikTok, Twitter, Skype, WeChat and Vkontakte.
The restriction was reportedly caused by the fact that these media do not store personal information of Uzbek citizens on servers located in Uzbekistan. The law, which took effect on April 16, 2021, set out such a requirement.
