On April 6, Tinkoff Global (Singapore) filed an application for registration of CloudPayments trademark in Uzbekistan. Information about this appeared in the database Intellectual Mulk (Intellectual Property) of the Ministry of Justice.

The categories of activity of the applicant are:

  • cash registers, electronic wallets;
  • invoicing, preparation of payment documents, preparation of account reports;
  • financial services, bank card services, transfer of funds in the electronic settlement system, payment services through electronic wallets;
  • user authentication services for transactions in the field of electronic commerce.

CloudPayments Internet acquiring service was created in 2014 and provides online payments, payment by bank cards, allows to connect online payments from cards to websites and apps, as well as payment by link or via QR codes.

In 2017, TCS Group Holding (which includes Tinkoff Bank and Tinkoff Global) acquired a 55% stake in CloudPayments for 290 million rubles (about $5 million that year).

In May 2019, the founders Dmitry Spiridonov and Konstantin Yan, sold another 35% stake to Tinkoff. Later, Yan handed over the remaining 5% to the company, and Spiridonov became the deputy chairman of the board of Tinkoff.

CloudPayments service was founded in 2014. In 2016, the project entered the Kazakh market, where it raised $3.4 million from a local entrepreneur.
