Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, the presidential press service said in a statement.
The two leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the holy month of Ramadan, wishing peace, well-being and prosperity to the peoples of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Reportedly, the parties focused on the promotion of mutually beneficial projects, including the launch of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, swift implementation of Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Plant-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway infrastructure projects and the expansion of industrial cooperation.
An agreement was reached to continue intensive contacts at the government level in order to unconditionally implement the decisions taken, the press service said.
The heads of state also reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings.
According to the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov thanked the Uzbek leader for building two secondary schools in the Batken region, as well as the reconstruction of the Osh State Academic Uzbek Music and Drama Theater named after Babur.
“Sadyr Japarov also expressed confidence that the future visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan will undoubtedly contribute to the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two states,” the message says.
The head of Kyrgyzstan also noted that he expects the personal participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Eurasian Economic Forum, scheduled to be held on May 26-27 in Bishkek.
