Komil Allamjonov filed a complaint to police against the editor of www.uzmetronom.com publication. Journalist Sergei Yezhkov in his article accused Komil Allamjonov of complicity in the illegal import of $4,200,000 worth of jewelry into the country. In turn, Allamjonov called this a libel and stated that this has nothing to do with freedom of speech and is aimed at discrediting and eliminating objectionable people.

“As you remember, on February 21 of this year, Sergei Yezhkov published an article containing libel “Golden Boy” on his website Uzmetronom.com, in which he openly accused me of complicity in the illegal importing of US$ 4.2 million worth of jewelry to Uzbekistan, namely in committing a serious criminal offense under Violation of customs legislation charge of the Criminal Code”, Komil Allamjonov said.

“Surely, I am not personally acquainted with Sergei Yezhkov, but there were rumors - people said - that until 2016, allegedly, he was publishing planted articles from some special services to denigrate certain individuals. Of course, I don't know for sure.”

“Realizing that, perhaps, Yezhkov acted on order, at first I calmly paused and a little later consulted with my lawyers, who noted that if the author failed to prove my involvement in this crime, then a criminal case could be initiated against him on the grounds of a crime under Libel combined with an accusation of committing a grave or especially grave crime charge.”

“Fully convinced that I am right, I filed a complaint to police against Sergei Yezhkov, who now must be held accountable his words to the fullest extent and as per the letter of the Law.”

“Let the law and the court judge us, I am completely open and ready to provide the investigation and the court with all the comprehensive information on the merits of the issue,” Komil Allamjonov wrote in his Telegram channel.
