The third joint tactical drill of the Uzbek and Indian military units, traditionally held since 2019, were held at the Yangiaryk combined arms training ground of the Northwestern Military District, the Ministry of Defense.
During the drill, the military personnel of the two countries liquidated a breakthrough across the border in the desert area of militants of a conditional terrorist group.
According to the drill’s scenario, the movement of armed persons in a settlement was revealed. First, the military, using round-the-clock surveillance, determined their numbers. Then a joint anti-terrorist operation began, during which military units destroyed a mock enemy. At the third stage, a pair of combat helicopters of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan launched an airstrike on enemy equipment and manpower.
The participants also completed the "Paramilitary Relay Race" on the army biathlon strip. Six participants from each team completed the tasks of rolling a truck tire, carrying an ammunition box to a set distance, incompletely disassembling an assault rifle, carrying out a wounded man on a stretcher and running with a gas mask.
