On March 22, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov landed in Tashkent on a working visit. At the Tashkent International Airport, he was welcomed by Deputy PM/Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.
According to the press service of the President of Tatarstan, tomorrow, on March 23, Rustam Minnikhanov has a busy work program planned, which includes meetings with businesses and negotiations with government officials of Uzbekistan. One of the key events of the working trip of Rustam Minnikhanov and the delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan to Uzbekistan will be participation in the ceremony of laying the first stone and the start of construction of the Chirchik chemical-industrial technopark, which is being created in cooperation with the Kazan technopolis Khimgrad. On the territory of the technopark, it is planned to organize the production of petrochemical and chemical products with high added value and in line with international quality standards.
Note: By the decision of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Uzkimyosanoat JSC and the Khimgrad technopolis will setting up an industrial park in Chirchik, Tashkent province, designed to localize the production of Russian companies in Uzbekistan.
In 2021, the Uzbekistan-Tatarstan trade surpassed US$ 200 million. Over the past 5 years, there has been a strengthening of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tatarstan as part of the growth of cooperation with the Russian Federation.
To date, a number of agreements and memoranda on cooperation between our ministries, chambers of commerce and industry, enterprises, organizations and universities have been signed and are being implemented, and cooperation is being advanced with leading Tatarstan companies such as KAMAZ, Tatneft, Khimgrad, KER-Holding, Tatkhimfarmpreparaty, POZiS and others.
