Senior specialist of the Governmental Services Center (GSC) of Ishtikhan district of Samarkand provincial branch of Governmental Services Agency was detained, UzA reported.
Reportedly, the operation was carried out in cooperation with the Samarkand State Security Service, the provincial department for combating economic crimes and the provincial police department.
During the event, an employee of the GSC, R.B., was detained, who, using his official powers, in collusion with citizen R.Sh. is suspected of extorting $12,000 from a local resident in exchange for finalizing paperwork for construction of a sewing workshop and a bakery on land plot of in the district. Immediately at the time of detention, the suspect received 6 thousand dollars from the agreed amount.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the suspects under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
