On March 18, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received the new Ambassador of the Korea Republic, Kim Hee-sang, the Foreign Ministry reported.
The Ambassador presented copies of his credentials to the Minister. Abdulaziz Kamilov congratulated the diplomat on his posting to Uzbekistan and wished him success in his high and responsible post.
Reportedly, the parties discussed topical issues of the Uzbek-South Korean special strategic partnership ties in areas of mutual interest.
The parties reviewed the schedule of events within the framework of the "Year of Mutual Exchanges" to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 85th anniversary of the Korean diaspora in Uzbekistan.
The previous Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Tashkent was Kang Jae Kwon completed his activities in February.
