Planes were unable to take off and land at the Tashkent airport in the morning of March 16 due to poor visibility, with several local and international flights delayed and moved to other airports, the Uzbekistan Airports said.
Due to dense fog at the Tashkent airport - visibility at about 150 m - Turkish Airlines flight THY-368, flying from Istanbul to Tashkent with 259 passengers on board, could not land at the destination airport and left at 8:45 for an alternate airfield in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
Another flight MSC-771 of Air Cairo from Sharm El Sheikh due to poor visibility (200 m) left for the Navoi airport. The plane with 172 passengers on board landed at 9:35 am at Navoi airport.
Restrictions at the Tashkent airport were lifted at 10:14 AM Tashkent time. By this hour, visibility is about 2000 m. The Turkish Airlines flight THY-368 landed in Tashkent at 11:47, the Air Cairo airline landed at the airport of the capital at 12:07 AM.
