On March 14, Tashkent hosted the first ever political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.
According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the two delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Masud Momen.
Reportedly, the delegations discussed the current state and the ways to advance the ties between the two countries in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields.
The sides exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of the UN and other multilateral structures,
“The importance of expanding the legal framework for cooperation was noted. In this regard, an agreement was reached on the establishment of working groups with the participation of representatives of the involved ministries and departments. Particular attention was paid to the issues of enhancing economic diplomacy by facilitating the establishment and expansion of contacts between business entities, creating favorable conditions for mutual trade and the implementation of joint investment projects,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.
