The joint project of Uzbekistan Airports and Uzbekistan Airways with the support of the Ministry of Transport involves the implementation of direct low-cost flights to nine Russian cities, Uzbekistan Airports said.

Reportedly, on January 30, Uzbekistan Airways made the first flight to Perm as part of the Eastern Hub project using the full economy system, and on January 31 - to Moscow and Orenburg.

The format involves a reduction in airfare by up to 30% due to an increase in seats on the aircraft and a reduction in service costs (food, luggage). Under the same system, direct flights from Namangan will be operated to Ufa, Samara, Omsk, Irkutsk, Krasnodar and Yekaterinburg.

According to the company, the Eastern Hub project is based on the proposal of the Namangan International Airport to reduce the cost of tickets for residents of the Ferghana Valley on the most popular destinations.
