President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on January 6, the presidential press service said in a statement.

Reportedly, the two leaders discussed the state and prospects of the Uzbek-Turkish strategic partnership ties, as well as issues of enhancing cooperation.

They also exchanged views on the situation in Central Asia, in particular on the current situation in Kazakhstan.

The presidents agreed on the need to take all measures aimed at ensuring peace and stability in Kazakhstan.

While, the heads of state called for a peaceful settlement of the situation, stressing the importance of preventing violence and escalation, the statement concluded.
