President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon on January 6, the presidential press service said.
Reportedly, the two leaders discussed the current agenda of the Uzbek-Tajik strategic partnership ties and exchanged views on the situation in the region, including the current situation in neighboring Kazakhstan.
They called on the parties involved in the current events for restraint and a peaceful solution to the issues that have arisen, the message says.
The heads of state expressed their readiness to continue to direct joint efforts to develop comprehensive cooperation in ensuring peace, stability and security in the region.
