New cable car, Amirsoy Express, was launched in the mountains of the Tashkent province on Sunday. The cable leads to the Amirsoy ski resort. The Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov attended the event.

"Amirsoy Express provides the delivery of visitors from the access road directly to the resort itself, reducing the driver's path by 5 km, bypassing the serpentine through the mountainous terrain," the Ministry of Tourism and Sports said. You can park your car in the free parking lot.

The cable car, built like the existing ski lift in the resort by the Austrian-Swiss Doppelmeier/Garaventa, has by 74 gondolas with a capacity of 10 people each.

The length of the line, capable of transporting 2,400 people per hour, is 2,913 m. The height of the lower station is 1,380 m above sea level, the upper one is 1,676 m. The speed of movement is 6 m/s. The stated travel time is 9 minutes (on the opening day it was about 12 minutes).

“The launch of such services at our resorts will eventually lead to the loss of the concept of seasonality in tourism in Uzbekistan, which means that tourists will be able to travel to our country regardless of the season,” Aziz Abdukhakimov told reporters.

The facility was erected in just seven months, he highlighted, - construction began on May 1. The total volume of investments of the foreign investor amounted to 15.2 million euros.

The Amirsoy resort was opened in Bostanlik province in the end of 2019. Specialists from Italy, Germany, Austria, Argentina, Spain and Denmark participated in its construction. On an area of 900 hectares, 10 tracks for skiers and snowboarders with a length of 16 km with an artificial snow system were built, as well as two lifts - a gondola and a chair.

Now preparations are underway for the second stage of the project to create a ski resort. There will be built 4-star and 3-star hotels with 200 or more rooms, a summer pool and zones for active seasonal recreation.
