The State Security Service reported on stopping illegal sale of land plots in the Tashkent, Syrdarya, Namangan and Samarkand provinces on Monday.
An employee of investment and foreign trade department of the Tashkent province governor's office, having entered into an agreement with the unofficial owner of an enterprise registered in Yakkasaray district of Tashkent, promised to sell 13.7 hectares of fertile land in Kibray district for $ 3.4 million. This land was on the balance sheet of an enterprise and was intended for the cultivation of agricultural products.
During an operation by the State Security Service officers together with the employees of Department for Combating Economic Crimes underthe Tashkent Province Police Department, these persons were detained red-handedly while receiving 500 thousand dollars from the requested amount.
A man in Mirzaabad district of Syrdarya province, previously convicted twice for fraud, promised a citizen planning to do business to assist in the allocation of 20 hectares of land through his acquaintances in the mayor’s system. In return, he asked for 70 thousand dollars and was detained while receiving an advance payment of $ 30 thousand.
A resident of Gulistan, engaged in brokerage activities, having entered into an agreement with another citizen, planned to sell his 20 hectares of land allocated for gardening, animal husbandry and fish farming for 19 thousand dollars. They were detained while receiving $ 15 thousand upfront.
In the same way, a resident of Bayaut district was detained while receiving $10 thousand as an advance. He agreed with a buyer to sell 10 hectares of farm land owned by another citizen for $ 14,000.
In the case recorded in Namangan province, a resident of Yangikurgan district, who is serving a sentence of restraint of freedom for fraudulent actions, again violated the law. Having gained the confidence of a representative of a construction company, he promised to assist in the allocation, through his acquaintances in the authorities, of 5 acres of land in the center of the Mingbulak district for the construction of a multi-storey building. For this he demanded 24 thousand dollars.
Upon receiving part of the money - $ 12 thousand and 32.25 million soums - the defendant was detained by employees of the provincial departments of the State Security Service and the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office.
In another case, the head of the housing and communal services department of one of the districts of the Samarkand province, abusing his official position, entered into an agreement with another citizen. Having gained the confidence of a third party, they promised to assist him in obtaining an empty warehouse building of the provincial medical association, for which they demanded 10 thousand dollars.
As a result of the operational action, they were detained while receiving an advance payment of $ 5,000.
Currently, on these facts, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, investigative actions are underway.
