On June 28, a regular meeting of the Ecological Party was held at the Legislative Chamber, which considered a number of bills in the first and second readings.
The party’s MPs discussed the Accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives (Geneva, October 9, 2015) Bill developed with the aim of developing the trade.
As MPs noted, today olives and olive oil are in high demand on world markets. Some of its virtues make it absolutely indispensable as a remedy. According to some estimates, one can earn US$ 15-17 thousand from 1 hectare of olive plantations, while by processing it, one can make US$ 45-50 thousand. In the Uzbekistan climatic conditions, there are no exact scientifically substantiated requirements and recommendations on agricultural technology for growing olives and their processing.
With the help of this document, new olive plantations will be created in our country in cooperation with developed countries in this area, processing enterprises will be set up and export volumes will be increased. Also, mutual cooperation will be established in the field of selection and application of agrotechnical methods.
