At the enlarged meeting of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism, the head of the diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in the United States Javlon Vahobov briefed on the work done and the future plans.
Javlon Vahobov proposed to open a diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan in Canada.
“Uzbekistan has a diplomatic mission only in Washington. I think it is not appropriate to try to handle all issues from here alone. We have submitted this proposal to Tashkent and this issue is currently being reviewed. Even if not a full fledged embassy, we have proposed to open at least a consulate general. I would be very grateful if the Senate also supported this proposal.
It would be the right decision as Canada is member of the G20 and G7,” concluded Javlon Vahobov.
