Rano Juraeva has been appointed the CEO of Uzbekistan Airports, announced Aziza Umarova, a member of the supervisory board of Uzbekistan Airports.
“The Prime Minister Abdulla Nigmatovich has just completed an official presentation of the new chief of Uzbekistan Airports, where I am a member of the supervisory board. I just want to wish success to the woman leader, who after many years decided to return to her native land. Rano Juraeva,”said Aziza Umarova.
“Her last place of work was the head of a Roscosmos subsidiary. She was also involved in the development of transport industry projects, in particular, the implementation of the e-Freight standard in air cargo transportation at the Civil Aviation Innovation Center, as well as the implementation of projects for the development of the Domodedovo airport complex, - wrote Aziza Umarova.
It also became known that the leadership of Uzbekistan Airways has changed.
In April 2019, a native of Uzbekistan, Rano Dzhuraeva, who previously had been in charge of the Center for Operation of Ground Space Infrastructure Objects (TSENKI), became the new CEO of S7 Space Transport Systems (S7 Space).
According to media reports, she was born in Tashkent. After graduating from school, Juraeva, having passed a competition of 16 people for a place, entered the Leningrad Institute of Aviation Instrumentation. A year later, she transferred to the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI). After graduating from the Moscow Aviation Institute with honors and graduate school in 1986, Rano Juraeva defended her Ph.D. thesis on the calculations of the dynamics of the flight of unmanned aerial vehicles. She studied international economic relations at the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade. She studied financial management strategies at Harvard Business School.
Before joining the aerospace holding S7 Group, she Rano Juraeva headed the Center for Operation of Ground Space Infrastructure Objects (COGSIO) of Roscosmos for several years. Prior to that, she was involved in the development of transport industry projects, in particular, the implementation of the e-Freight standard in air cargo transportation at the Civil Aviation Innovation Center, headed the aviation sector of the Basic Element holding, including during the preparation of Sochi airport for the 2014 Olympic Games. As Business Development Director of Airport Management Company Ltd, she was involved in the implementation of projects for the development of the Domodedovo airport complex.
