Uzbekistan's embassy, with support from the National PR Center under the Tourism Committee, held an online meeting with officials of the Airbnb platform.

Airbnb's chief at federal affairs, Akila Powell, and its international policy lead, Nayana Renu Kumar, took part in the talks.

The meeting noted that nearly 12 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2025, and that the figure reached 7.8 million in January-July 2026. It also highlighted that more than 13.4 million domestic trips were made in the first half of this year under the "Travel Around Uzbekistan!" program.

Based on those figures, the two sides discussed expanding the operations of Airbnb, a leading global platform for finding and booking short-term accommodation, in Uzbekistan.

At the end of the talks, the parties agreed to continue practical cooperation aimed at increasing the number of Uzbek listings on the platform, attracting local hosts and entrepreneurs, and ensuring service and safety standards.
