From 2021, public procurement tenders will be held online. The new edition of Public Procurement Law is being reviewed by parliament. In order to ensure openness and transparency in the conduct of tenders and bids, starting from this year, tenders will be held fully online, announced the Deputy Finance Minister Odilbek Isakov at a session of the International Press Club.

According to him, a new version of the Public Procurement Law has been prepared and sent to parliament for discussion in order to ensure transparency in the expenditures and revenues of public institutions. Now the purchases of corporate customers are also planned to be placed on an open information portal.

In his address to the parliament on December 29, 2020, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that only 4% of businesses participate in public procurement, and next year transparent requirements for public procurement will be introduced at 24 large state-owned enterprises.

At the first plenary session in 2021, the Senate Speaker criticized the Anti-Corruption Agency on corruption in public procurement and other important issues, and proposed to establish a system of regular hearings of the agency's report in parliament.

The new edition of Public Procurement Law was submitted to parliament on October 8.
