President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today in the morning departed for Kashkadarya province, where he has been inspecting the ongoing construction works, projects of new enterprises.

In particular, the head of state in Karshi district familiarized with projects in the light industry.

One of which is the program of creation of new and modernization of existing light industry enterprises in the province for 2017-2019, envisaging the creation of 17 enterprises.

The program, co-developed by O'zbekYengilSanoat (Uzbek Light Industry) with commercial banks, foresees creation of about 3 thousand jobs. Today in the province there are 7 textile enterprises. They are currently processing about10 percent of the harvested cotton fiber in Kashkadarya.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, getting acquainted with the project of a Uzbek-Chinese-Dutch joint venture, LT Textiles International, which will produce textile products, emphasized that Kashkadarya province is a leader in harvesting cotton and this potential should be utilized effectively and stressed the importance of fiber processing and production of finished products.

This company will allow to process local fiber in the province, increase the real incomes of households.

The company, which will annually produce 22 thousand tons of mixed yarn and 50 million square meters of fabric, will export 80 percent of the output.

Here the Head of State examined the project of Universal Taraqqiyot Tekstil, a joint venture, created at the former enterprise, Yakkabagh Tex in Yakkabagh district.

The company, which envisages the creation of 400 jobs, specializes in the processing of cotton fiber and production of finished textile products. When it achieves the full capacity the enterprise wil produce 6 million square meters of fabric, 2 million sets of bed linen a year.

Modern, energy-saving technologies are being introduced in many facilities. Wood Décor Production, a joint venture set in Karshi at the former cotton-cleaning plant, is equipped with such technologies. The President of our country has instructed the executives to raise the efficiency of the project.

When inspecting an investment project for production of fabrics in Guzar district, Shavkat Mirziyoyev drew attention to the issue of job creation. Today, what people want are the jobs. And a lot depends on SMEs. The project will provide 600 people with jobs.

UzPahtaSanoatEksport holding has launched a plant for drying fruits and vegetables in Kasan district. The facility, which will create more than 100 jobs, will process 10 thousand tons of fruit and vegetables. Another ten jobs will be created in a refrigerator in Karshi district, which will be commissioned this year, designed for storage of 500 tons of agricultural products.
