A person who made a living by begging in Maltepe, Istanbul, stabbed an Uzbek man to death with a knife in the chest. While the moment of stabbing was caught by cameras, the suspect was quickly caught and arrested.

The incident took place at around 18.00 at a store in Maltepe Feyzullah Mahallesi Mimar Sinan Street on December 8. According to the information obtained, a person named Bedir G. (27), who made a living by begging, came to the place in the evening and wanted to buy something for himself. Meanwhile, a dispute broke out between him and an Uzbek man named Burhonjon Ochilov, 31, who was a courier at the store.

According to the statements of the eyewitnesses, Ochilov called off Bedir G. saying "Why are you not working? I came from a foreign country and I am working". As the argument escalated, Bedir G. stabbed the courier to the chest. The perpetrator then left the scene.

Seeing the situation, the citizens of the area informed the police. Istanbul Police Department Homicide Bureau Team immediately came to the scene and started an investigation. The teams, who scanned the security cameras, identified the suspect Bedir G. and started searching. The teams caught Bedir G. at his friend's house and detained him approximately 2 hours later. Bedir G. was transferred to the courthouse after the procedures.
