Yesterday, December 1, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, the Uzbek presidency website said.
The counterparts reportedly the topical issues of strengthening Uzbek-Kazakh friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership ties, and focused on advancing joint projects and programs in the trade, economic, investment and humanitarian areas.
The two leaders also discussed the international agenda, including preparations for the upcoming CIS summit this month, chaired by the Republic of Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to continue a close dialogue within the framework of the commonwealth, as well as other regional and global structures.
In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the former President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Kazakh people on the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He emphasized the historical role of the Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev in the formation and dynamic development of modern Kazakhstan, increasing the country's prestige in the international arena, as well as a great contribution to strengthening friendship and good-neighborliness in the Central Asia region.
The counterparts highly valued the current level of Uzbek-Kazakh multifaceted relations based on the principles of strategic partnership, mutual trust and support, and exchange views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
