Uzbekistan and Tajikistan companies signed US$ 724 million worth of 308 investment and trade deals, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT) said.
Earlier the Uzbek PM Abdulla Aripov paid a visit to Tajikistan, during which he met with President Emomali Rahmon.
Dushanbe also hosted the seventh meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
The meeting of the commission was followed by a business forum, at which deals were inked on the implementation of projects in the light, food, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals and the production of building materials.
“The parties also agreed to improve customs and border control procedures, as well as to implement joint projects for the construction, modernization and equipping of railway infrastructure facilities,” the statement concluded.
