The Uzbek born Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov donated 100 billion soums (US$ 10 million) to reward the medical personnel in Uzbekistan.
The funds, as well as an additional 100 billion soums from the state budget, will be provided as incentive for the ambulance personnel.
As per the relevant government decision, ambulance personnel involved in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection will be provided with one-time material incentive payments in the following amounts:
- doctors - 5 million soums;
- nurses - 4 million soums;
- drivers - 3 million soums.
These payments apply only to employees hired before June 1 of this year.
