Canada will provide 250 thousand Canadian dollars (185 thousand US dollars) to combat coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The financial assistance was discussed during a telephone conversation between the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Canada, Abdulaziz Kamilov and François-Philippe Champagne.
The Foreign Ministers also discussed building up trade, economic and investment cooperation.
“Interest was expressed in the active entry of Canadian business into the Uzbek market and the implementation of high-tech investment projects in the fields of renewable energy, industry and agriculture,” the Foreign Ministry said.
In addition, the parties agreed to expand cooperation within the UN and its specialized institutions.
