On June 2, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree aimed at improving Uzbekistan’s positions in various international ratings and indices, as well as introducing a new mechanism for interacting with them in government bodies and organizations.

This is the second document aimed at improving the country's position in international ratings and indices, the first was adopted in February 2019.

The decree notes that due to some leaders not paying enough attention to collaboration with ratings and to most reforms not being reflected in the studies by international organizations, the country's position in major international ratings and indices is still very low.

The document provides for the creation of a Republican Council for collaboration with international ratings and indices. Among its tasks is the analysis of the level of socio-economic and political-legal development of the country, promoting initiatives aimed at improving the system of state power and administration, democratization of society, implementation of reforms, and others.

The working bodies of the Council are the Ministries of Finance and Justice.

One of the main criteria for evaluating the performance of the first leaders of responsible government agencies will be the improvement of the country's position in international ratings and indices, which are priority for Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Finance, together with other departments, has been instructed to launch the Unified Portal “The Republic of Uzbekistan in International Rankings” by October 1.
