A footage went viral on social networks in which a police officer kicks the stomach of a resident of Koson district of Kashkadarya province.
The National Guard has denied reports that the officer in the footage is an officer of the National Guard.
The Ministry of the Interior later issued a statement stating that the incident occurred on May 30 at approximately 9:40 PM during an evening lockdown compliance raid.
“Near Nihol Saidbaraka store, an officer of the operational unit of Kashkadarya police department abused his authority, illegally used force against, Kh. M., 28 and humiliated his honor and dignity,” the statment said.
The Kashkadarya Police Department of Internal Security appointed an internal probe. The actions of each incident participant will be given a legal assessment.
