A videoconference was organized between Uzbek and British doctors with the assistance of the Uzbekistan Embassy in UK to exchange experiences on the prevention and treatment of new coronavirus infection COVID-19 on Monday, the Foreign Ministry said.
The event was attended by the Director of the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care of the Lewisham University Hospital Dr. Waqas Khaliq, doctors Richard Frieze and Fazliddin Murodov from the British side. From the Uzbek side - representatives of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid, as well as anesthesia and intensive care doctors from all provinces.
The experts of the two countries reportedly exchanged information on measures taken to combat coronavirus, the actions of medical institutions in terms of diagnostics and treatment.
The British doctors were reportedly highly interested by the scientific research of their Uzbek colleagues on injection to patients of the blood plasma of those who recovered from coronavirus infection and plans for the widespread introduction of this technique in the UK clinics, the statement noted.
