Power outages may occur in some provinces of Uzbekistan due to a malfunction at Yangi-Angren TPP, the National Electric Networks said.
A malfunction in the coal supply system occurred yesterday at 21:00. At 21:17 in order to prevent an accident, the personnel of the station stopped the 200 MW power unit No. 4. The total capacity of the station decreased from 800 to 420 MW.
The malfunction triggered emergency control, which led to power outages among consumers. Currently, in order to ensure security, restrictions have been imposed, the statement added.
According to the National Dispatch Center, this situation is not the first time at the station. During the first nine days of March, five outages occurred observed at the power units.
Yangi-Angren TPP provides energy to the main industrial facilities and the Tashkent province households.
