On March 2, 2020, the Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted the he visiting member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the head of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission, Yang Jiechi.
The parties reiterated their mutual interest in further advancing and expanding the comprehensive strategic partnership ties in the spirit of mutual respect and trust and underscored the reciprocal willingness to implement infrastructure, industrial, cultural, humanitarian and other joint projects in the framework of the One Bel and Road initiative.
Particular attention was paid to the prospects of expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, with proposals considered on cooperation in transport and communications.
The parties also discussed the current year's Uzbek-Chinese Provinces Forum Regions and other joint events at various levels and the aspects of cooperation within the UN, SCO and other international structures.
