The legislation in Uzbekistan for a gambling zone in Muynak will be ready this year, the head for Investments and Tourist Zones Development of the Tourism Development Committee, Jurabek Akhmedov said.
“The legal framework for a gambling zone in Muynak is currently being readied. We have no gambling-related provisions in the legislation. Now the Tourism Development Committee is working on this, we have already prepared a number of regulations. I can assure you, that this year we will complete drafting the legal framework for gambling. Some documents are already ready," he added.
Earlier, a number of foreign investors announced intention to build casinos and other gaming facilities of in Muynak. The authorities are planning to create a world class tourism cluster here.
Earlier in December, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed decree legalizing sports betting from 2021.
