The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Kazakh Prime Minister, Askar Mamin, who arrived in Uzbekistan to co-chair the second Uzbek-Kazakh Forum of Inter-Provinces Cooperation, the presidential press service said.
The parties reportedly discussed the ways to step up cooperation, primarily in the trade, economic, investment, transport and communications, energy, agricultural sectors, education, culture and other priority areas.
Particular attention was paid to the creation of favorable conditions for keeping up the high growth rates of the two-way trade, as well as promoting cooperation and infrastructure development projects with the participation of leading companies of the two countries.
The importance of continuing active humanitarian and tourist exchanges based on joint programs was noted.
The parties reached an agreement at the meeting to draft a road map for the formation of a new economic agenda for the Uzbek-Kazakh full-scale partnership.
