The Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing concern over the tensions in the Middle East. "Uzbekistan is particularly concerned about events in the Middle East, directly adjacent to Central Asia," the statement said.
“Further aggravation of the military-political situation can result in widespread casualties and a large-scale humanitarian crisis, destroy vital economic ties and infrastructure and cause irreparable damage to the regional and global security,” the statement added.
“The Uzbek side advocates for maximum restraint and calls on the parties to take political and diplomatic measures to reduce tensions and normalize the situation in the region,” the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
