The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday signed decrees on December 9 on Uzbekistan’s joining another two CIS treaties: 

Agreement on the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS on November 28, 2006 in Minsk. The Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan is the authority responsible for the implementation of this document;

Agreement on the Council for Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, signed at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS on October 10, 2008 in Bishkek. The Ministry of Economy and Industry is responsible for the implementation of this agreement in Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will send notifications to the depositary on the implementation of domestic procedures for the entry of the said international treaties into force.

After these agreements take effect, the Government and the heads of the relevant ministries and agencies shall monitor the implementation of obligations undertaken by Uzbekistan.
