The government has approved a number of measures to protect women and girls from harassment and violence, Norma legal portal said.
This is provided for by the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution of January 4, 2020 "On measures to improve the system for protecting women and girls from harassment and violence."
In particular, the document has approved:
- the Regulation on the procedure of issuance of a protective order, ensuring its execution, monitoring;
- the Regulation on the procedure for behavior correctional programs for persons who committed or have a tendency to exert harassment and violence;
- the schedule of events, interaction of entities for the issuance of a protective order, and timelines and control over its execution.
The document also defines the procedure for issuing by police departments of a protective order to victims, as well as providing a copy of it to persons who committed violence.
Among the main tasks of the correctional program are:
- prevention of cases of violence against women;
- addressing the causes and conditions that contribute to the occurrence of violence;
- identification and correction of latent forms of violence;
The resolution took effect on January 4, 2020.
