On December 19, First Deputy Foreign Minister, Ilkhom Nematov hosted the visiting Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture/Trade Representative of Ukraine, Taras Kachka, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The parties reportedly discussed the ways to bolster the bilateral in all areas, focusing on expanding cooperation in the trade, economic and investment fields.

In January-November 2019, the two-way trade volume of trade between the two countries topped 348.7 million dollars, "which is by far below the existing potential."

The parties confirmed their interest in enhancing cooperation, including by promoting mutually beneficial contacts between business and economic structures and voiced the proposals on enhancing exchanges in the tourism, cultural and humanitarian spheres, in particular on establishing direct links between medical educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Ukraine,.

The sides also exchange views on the schedule of upcoming joint events, including the resumption of inter-MFA political consultations and the holding of the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
