The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today hosted the mayor of Tajik capital Dushanbe, the President Emomali Rahmon’s son, Rustam Emomali, the presidential press service said.
The parties discussed the ways to expand cooperation between Tashkent and Dushanbe cities, focusing on establishing regular contacts in as the exchange of experience in urban management and infrastructure development, the implementation of joint projects and cultural and humanitarian cooperation programs.
Earlier on Tuesday, Tashkent mayor Jahongir Ortiqhojaev and f Dushanbe mayor Rustam Emomali, who made his first trip abroad as mayor, signed an action plan in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas between the capitals of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan for 2020-2021.
