The Uzbek Defense Minister, Major-General Bakhodir Kurbanov departed for Azerbaijan to attend the next meeting of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers.
According to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense, a bilateral meeting between the defence ministers of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is planned during the visit to discuss the ways to advance bilateral cooperation in military sphere.
The two ministers are also scheduled to sign a draft military cooperation plan.
The next meeting of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers will be held tomorrow in Baku. The heads of defense departments of Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will attend the event.
Uzbekistan hosted the previous meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers.
