On October 28, 2019, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden stationed in Stockholm, Ingrid Tersmann.
The parties discussed the ways to advance Uzbek-Swedish relations in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields and reiterated mutual interest in further stepping up bilateral cooperation.
In order to maintain dialogue, the parties agreed to consider holding the next round of inter-MFA political consultations in Q1 of 2020 in Tashkent.
The parties also exchanged views on the practical ways of boosting trade, mechanisms for implementing joint projects involving Swedish investment and high-end technologies as part of government industrialization and privatization programs. In order to enhance relations in this area, an agreement was reached on working out the issue of holding the second Uzbek-Swedish business forum in Tashkent in 2020.
