On October 24, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the construction progress of the Sergeli extension of the Chilonzor metro line, the presidential press service said.
The US$ 82.6 million line extension project will include 7 kilometers of railway and construction of 6 stations and will link to the Olmazor metro station of the Chilonzor line, which will connect the densely populated Sergeli district with the downtown.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev observed the construction work at the Olmazor station and noted the exceptional importance of this line, given the growing pace of development of the Sergeli district and housing construction.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited the Yashnabad district, where he got acquainted with the construction progress of the Elevated ring line. The US$ 442 million line is almost 55 kilometers long and is being implemented in five phases. Currently, as part of the phase I, a 11-kilometer line section is being laid from the Dustlik station (Uzbekistan line) to the Kuylyuk market. The construction of 7 stations is envisaged on this section, with 2 stations - Dustlik-2 and Ohangaron now completed.
He made a trip between the two stations on a new rolling stock, got acquainted with the facilites at the stations. In the remaining section until the Kuylyuk market, the load-bearing supports have now been erected, the installation of beams and the construction of stations are ongoing.
At the phase II, it is planned to connect the Kuylyuk market with the Olmazor station, then the line will continue to the Beruni station, from there to the Bodomzor station. At the final stage, the line will close at Dustlik station and form a ring.
