The international conference - Perspectives of Implementation of English Law in Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent as part English Law Day in Tashkent on October 17-18, which was moderated by the Minister of Justice Ruslan Davletov.
The Minister of Justice Ruslan Davletov made remarks regarding the implementation of English law in Uzbekistan.
“English law is very valuable. It provides reliable protection for investors and a source of their trust. All over the world, one mention of English law will do a lot to attract investors.”
“Naturally, every country seeks to create an attractive investment climate, and Uzbekistan should not be an exception in this matter, in our country, we must simultaneously develop the legal system.”
“From the point of view of investors, there are certain rules, principles and standards that are familiar to them. These rules and principles underlie the decision of investors to invest or not in Uzbekistan. You can say and do everything, but if you do not gain trust, the rest is useless.”
“The speaker at today’s event, Simon Koch, presented a list of items (conditions) that investors request before entering the Uzbekistan’s market. There are about 30 items in it. To provide them, we need enough resources, time and, most importantly, personnel,” Ruslan Davletov underscored.
The conference talked about the possibility of adaptation and implementation of English laws to create a legal regime conducive to the growth of the Uzbek economy and attracting foreign investment, as well as the role of the judiciary in the implementation of English law.
As a result of the conference, it is planned to develop a set of proposals providing for the implementation of English law in Uzbekistan.
