On October 16, 2019, the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, who departed for Nur Sultan to attend the 12th Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Kang Kyung-wha.
The two ministers reviewed the implementation progress of the multifaceted agreements reached on April 18-21 in the framework of the state visit of President Moon Jae-in to Uzbekistan and negotiations with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and noted with satisfaction the upward trend in bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields. In the first half of 2019, the volume of two-way trade reached US$ 1.8 billion, a 75% increase to the last year.
The counterparts examined the mechanisms for the further implementation of joint investment, as well as socially significant projects, the cooperation in the implementation of e-government, IT, education, health and agriculture areas.
The foreign ministers also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
