On October 13, 2019, the Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is in Baku to attend the 7th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council), met with the Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The ministers exchanged warm congratulations on the full accession of Uzbekistan to the Turkic Council and expressed confidence that this would significantly increase the Council’s potential for multilateral cooperation and discussed the topical issues of the Uzbek-Turkish strategic partnership, and the ways to expand them in specific areas.
The parties also reiterated their interest in further stepping up multifaceted cooperation both bilaterally and within the Turkic Council.
